Brunch @ Medina Cafe, Vancouver, BC

My mum and I are currently on a 2 weeks summer vacation in British Columbia. Plan was to hang around Vancouver for the first week, exploring the city and neighbouring eg Richmond, Burnaby. Cafe Medina on Beatty Street is located about 2 blocks away from where we were staying ( Taylor Street ). Its easily spotted as its the only shop along Beatty St with throngs of people waiting outside the shop. After approximately 25 minutes wait, we were ushered to our table :)
Since it was past 12pm, we missed the breakfast items but no fret, they do serve certain items all day and a lunch menu as well. We had a Belgian waffle with salted caramel as appetiser/dessert, Medina Lemonade (with sparkling water, mint without the alcohol ), Paella ( with chorizo, avocado, egg, watercress ) and a side of grilled focaccia.
Waffle was really good and salted caramel has a unique flavor. Mum didn't like it because it has a touch of lavender taste.
Virgin Medina Lemonade. Super thirst-quenching drink! Loved it !
Paella. Tad bit oily (probably from the meaty sauce) but chorizo was delicious.
Grilled foccacia. I'm sure they used Worchestershire sauce. Went well with the sunny side up.
Overall, I paid about $30 ( plus tax+tips) for two people which I think was pretty decent. I would love to try their other items if I had the chance. Ambience was pretty good as well.
